Davide Motta Spring 2009 was a semester of awards and responsibilities for Davide Motta. He took over as the president of Cosmo House and was promptly honored with an award for fostering better ties among residents and international students. He also completed his Master’s program in December 2009 and is now a Ph.D. student. This means more time spent studying meandering rivers, bank erosion, aeration and re-aeration, and some such stuff! But Davide is not complaining. Good luck. Sharyl Corrado After spending five years in Cosmo House, Sharyl is ready to move. And we can’t be happier. Not because we do not love Sharyl, but because she has managed to get a great job in these tough times. And if that was not enough, Sharyl’s job sounds nothing short of a perpetual picnic: She has been hired by Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. (Surf’s up!) We wish her good luck. Frederik Eidam When Frederik came to Urbana-Champaign a year-and-a-half back, he had a plan. He wanted to graduate, get a job, get married, and move back to Europe. Frederik’s flawless planning has helped him achieve all that and more. He has a job with an insurance company in Munich and he will marry his fiancée later this year. Well done, Frederik. Darakhshan Khan When she first came to Urbana-Champaign in Fall 2007, Darakhshan never thought she would be sad about leaving this sleepy campus. But she did leave with a heavy heart, mainly because of the friends she had to leave behind in Cosmo House. Darakhshan has been admitted to the Ph.D. program at University of Pennsylvania, but she plans to take her friends from the sleepy town with her. No good-byes yet for her.
