Preparations for the Greek Dinner

by Konstantinos Yfantis

The ingredients for good cooking are enthusiasm, appetite, and fresh produce. The talented cooks that gathered to prepare the "Culinary Odyssey to Greece" Cosmopolitan Club dinner on Sunday, January 30, brought with them ample quantities of all of these. Cooking took place on Saturday from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., and it resumed at 10 a.m. on Sunday. The preparations for the January 30 Cosmopolitan dinner turned out to be a fun and rewarding collective activity. Despite a few clashes among the cooks on what were the "right" ingredients or what was the right direction for stirring the fasolada (bean soup) [ ;-) ], it was a positive experience that will remain with them forever. Conducive to the dinner's success was the generous hospitality of the residents of 307 East John Street.
