Mulongwe

Summer got to Cosmo. Some residents went home, some left for good, some were on vacation. The house was unusually quiet for the first time in months. And then, Mulongwe came. His presence, his stories about his native Zambia, and his quiet laughter mixed with the silence, giving the house a new warmth.

Fall came, and so did the "old" and new residents. Laughter, noise, and hurrying steps were back. But that warm calmness Mulongwe had brought stayed, mixing with old and new sounds, and giving the house a new beat.

So, if you listen carefully, you will hear that melodious calmness in the air. The same that makes up the thread of Mulongwe's stories, the quiet beating of his poetry. The warmth that allows him to sympathize instead of building his strength on others' weaknesses. The same warm calmness that lets him appreciate what is truly beautiful and important, instead of rushing into silly, unimportant things like many of us.

Summer came, Mulongwe came. Fall is almost gone. Luckily for us, Mulongwe will stay. At least for a while.
