Caroline and Mel Wagner were inseparable partners who complemented each other in such a way that their joint contribution to the community and their fellow world citizens far exceeded what each may have contributed separately. Caroline was recognized posthumously, and Mel was honored for enriching the lives of international students, enhancing their educational opportunities and nurturing them in countless ways. An award banquet was hosted by the City of Champaign on October 18th. Caroline was a dedicated volunteer in many community organizations which included the Cosmopolitan Club where she served as a member of the Board of Directors from l995 through her passing earlier in February of this year.
